Going to New York tomorrow
I'm going there to visit my aunt and uncle and staying 'till Saturday. Looking forward to the journey tremendously.
Only problem was getting through security with my expired state ID (I only found out about it at O'Hare; it ran out early this month). Luckily, I managed to work it out, though I still need to get an updated one. :) Nevertheless, I had a swell time. The particular highlight was one night when we went to Midtown Comics (bought the Tarzan/Carson of Venus TPB and the 4th volume of Lone Wolf and Cub), then to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame annex (got a Ramones shirt at the gift shop), had a delicious meal at a French restaurant, and saw some hilarious improv. BTW, Win, in case you were wondering, the aunt I referred to is indeed the one who contributed to Paraspheres, Carole Rosenthal. She's married to my mom's brother, my uncle Bob.
had to repost this due to an egregious typo. isn't Midtown Comics great? have you been to Forbidden Planet yet? they have everything! next time you go, if you haven't already, check out Kim's Video in the Village. they have every DVD in print (and many OP), both for sale & for rent, and it's a relatively small store. the old now-closed flagship Kim's store in NY employed my Shock Cinema editor Steve Puchalski for many years. my friend Michele Witchipoo even remembered him when we got to chatting about SC. glad you had fun bro. i'm going crazy wanting to go back, which is funny, because half my friends online think i live there already. wonder why... Safe travels!

Yeah, I've been to Forbidden Planet once or twice. Pretty cool store. :) I'll definitely try to arrange a visit to Kim's next time I head down there.
